Saint John the Baptist, Patron Saint of Baptism and Converts
John was born to Elizabeth and Zechariah in their old age, a birth the Gospel of Luke records as miraculous, and grew up to become a cousin of Jesus and the last of the Old Testament prophets. He withdrew into the wilderness of Judea, living an austere, solitary life, dressed in camel hair with a leather belt, eating only locusts and wild honey, and preaching a message of repentance that drew crowds from across the region. He baptized those who came to him in the Jordan River, a practice that gave him his name, and when Jesus himself came forward to be baptized, John recognized him immediately, declaring, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." He spent his ministry deliberately pointing away from himself and toward Christ, famously saying, "He must increase, but I must decrease." His public condemnation of Herod Antipas's unlawful marriage to his brother's wife led to his imprisonment, and at the request of Herodias's daughter, he was beheaded, a martyrdom Jesus himself later called the death of the greatest man ever born of woman.

A Confirmation Gift for John
For a confirmation candidate who understands that faith isn't about being the center of attention, John offers one of the clearest examples in all of Scripture. Engrave a name and confirmation date, and let his humility carry the meaning.
The Saint John the Baptist Medal
This medal depicts him in simple wilderness robes, holding a cross-topped reed staff with a lamb at his side, a reference to his declaration, "Behold the Lamb of God," his halo radiating outward against an ornate patterned border. The natural gold or silver of the metal forms the illustration itself. Black ink is applied to the pendant surface and the metal shows through as the image. A shatterproof liquid glass coating seals the surface. The result has a depth and precision that printed medals don't achieve.
Personalization and Engraving
The optional engraving on the reverse is rendered in Tangerine cursive, two lines, up to 20 characters each. Many choose a name and a baptism date, or simply "prepare the way."
Saint John the Baptist's feast is celebrated twice, his birth on June 24 and his martyrdom on August 29, a rare double honor shared by very few saints in the entire Church calendar.

FAQ
How long does production take?
Each medal is made to order in the USA. Production takes 5-6 business days before shipping. If you need it for a birthday, confirmation, or any specific occasion, order at least two weeks in advance to be safe.
What does the engraving look like?
The reverse is engraved in Tangerine cursive — an elegant, flowing script. You get two lines, up to 20 characters each. Names, dates, short quotes. The engraving is laser-etched directly into the metal, not printed.
Is the chain included?
Yes. Every medal ships on an 18-22" adjustable snake chain in the same finish as the medal - stainless steel or 18k gold. No need to source a chain separately.
Are the medals hypoallergenic?
Yes. Both options are made from medical-grade 316 stainless steel. The 18k gold finish is applied over that same 316 stainless steel base. Safe for sensitive skin.
How durable is the coating?
Each medal is hand-sealed with a shatterproof liquid glass coating poured directly over the surface. It protects the artwork from scratches and moisture without dulling the detail or altering the color. It's designed to be worn daily, not kept in a drawer.
What's your return policy on engraved orders?
Because every medal is custom-made to order, engraved pieces cannot be returned unless there's a defect or error on our part. If anything arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us and we'll make it right.
